We are happy to share that The Radium Girls by Kate Moore and The Gross Cookbook by Susanna Tee are on the 2019 Texas Topaz Nonfiction Reading List.

The purpose of the Texas Topaz Reading List is to provide children and adults with recommended nonfiction titles that will encourage reading and personal learning. It is intended for recreational reading and is not designed to support any particular curriculum.

The titles on the list are those the Topaz committee felt represented the best Nonfiction titles of the past three years! The list is promoted to Texas librarians as those titles they should consider when making their collection decisions.

Marie Benedict is named to the LibraryReads Hall of Fame

We are thrilled to share that Marie Benedict has been named to the LibraryReads Hall of Fame.

The Only Woman in the Room (January 2019) qualified her to the list. The LibraryReads Hall of Fame designation honors authors who have had multiple titles appear on the monthly LibraryReads list since 2013. When their third title places on the list via library staff votes, the author moves into the Hall of Fame. The Other Einstein (October 2016) and Carnegie’s Maid (January 2018) were both previous selections. Marie is keeping company with Elizabeth Berg, Lee Child, Liane Moriarty, Louise Penny and Jodi Picoult.

We are so excited to share that Illegal by Eoin Colfer and Andrew Donkin, illus. by Giovanni Rigano, has been named one of Barnes & Noble's Best Books of 2018!

This marks the fifth "Best of 2018" list for Illegal. The graphic novel has also appeared on the following lists:

New York Public Library's Best Books of 2018
Chicago Public Library's Best Books of 2018
Kirkus Reviews's Best Middle-Grade Graphic Novels of 2018
Amazon's Best Books of the Year

An incredibly raw and and piercing look at the current plight of undocumented immigrants, Illegal is an important story that we were honored to share with readers.
