We're thrilled to share the following trade reviews from this week.

[A] leisurely placed cozy, firmly set in beautiful Cornwall, with a quirky, well-drawn protagonist.
You can read the full review in the April 1 issue of Booklist.

Kirkus reviews Copycat by Hannah Jayne:
Addie and Maya feel authentic; their charming interpersonal dynamic and the escalating pace of the plot result in a quick read. Combining fandom and murder, a pleasant diversion designed for digital natives.
Read the full review online here or in the May 1 issue of Kirkus.

Picture
Publishers Weekly reviews August and Everything After by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski:
This is a satisfying blend of family drama, romance, and music, staged in the aftermath of tragedy.

Publishers Weekly reviews You Will Be Mine by Natasha Preston:

The Bulletin for the Center for Children's Books reviews The Heart Forger by Rin Chupeco:
Chupeco’s lush prose ensures that the emotions—cringing horror, nail-biting suspense, swoony passion—will all be accounted for. Readers who enjoy complex, densely intricate political intrigues are the best fit for this ongoing series.
Read the full review in the April 2018 issue of The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books.

Booklist reviews The Doughnut Fix by Jessie Janowitz:
Janowitz accurately portrays the chaotic emotions moving can trigger in this sweet, relatable story. Tristan’s doughnut endeavor will hold wide appeal as a pleasure read, and may inspire young foodies or entrepreneurs to think beyond the lemonade stand.
You can read the full review in the April 1 issue of Booklist.
The Bulletin for the Center For Children's Books reviews The Doughnut Fix by Jessie Janowitz:
A heartwarming read that recognizes the growing amount of child foodies.
You can read the full review in the April 2018 issue of The Bulletin for the Center for Children's Books.

Picture
Booklist reviews Inky the Octopus by Erin Guendelsberger:
This jaunty tale of derring-do imagines Inky the octopus' real-life escape from the National Aquarium of New Zealand from Inky's point of view... a refrain echoing Inky’s desire to be free in the open sea anchors the story and offers support to young readers and listeners.
Read the full review in the April 1 issue of Booklist.

The Bulletin for the Center For Children's Books reviews The Stupendously Spectacular Spelling Bee by Deborah Abela:
Readers will revel in India’s development as she learns not only what it means to be a spelling champion but also what it means to be a good daughter, sister, and friend all rolled into one. Whether readers are interested in family humor, friendship, competition, or just plain fun, this will have something to offer.
You can read the full review in the April 2018 issue of The Bulletin for the Center for Children's Books.

Picture
Kirkus reviews Seven Bad Cats by Monique Bonneau:
The rhymed couplets roll like the waves, and the watercolor-and-ink illustrations, mostly full-bleed, double-page spreads, are pale, simple, and charming. The kitties' curves as they leap and pounce (and play with everything) and the young sailor's emotions are deftly displayed in just a few lines. Captures the dual nature of the feline friend, often "bad" but always your buddy.
