We were happy to welcome Neil Steinberg from the Chicago Sun-Times to the Sourcebooks HQ this past week. Mr. Steinberg was given an inside look at the inner workings of Sourcebooks, and we are thrilled to share his article that was published yesterday, January 20, 2019. "By being nimble and collaborative — and at one low point taking a mortgage on Raccah’s home — the company has managed to thrive during changing times," Steinberg writes.

We are excited that Sourcebooks is expanding its children's business with the launch of three new imprints, Sourcebooks Wonderland, Sourcebooks Young Readers, and Sourcebooks eXplore. All three new imprints will live under the umbrella of Sourcebooks Kids, which will include:
We are also pleased to announce that Nicky Benson, former director of product management at Readerlink, will be joining Karen Shapiro, publishing manager of the Sourcebooks entertainment group, in launching Sourcebooks Wonderland. “Nicky has a remarkable eye for writing and design that connects with a wide audience," said Todd Stocke, senior vice president and editorial director at Sourcebooks. "We’re thrilled to add her to our growing team."
We are thrilled to share that Anna Michels has been promoted to Editorial Director, Sourcebooks and Poisoned Pen Press. Shana, Editorial Director for Sourcebooks and Sourcebooks Landmark, joins us in congratulating Anna: "Anna first joined us as an editorial intern, and she has been a tremendous asset ever since. Every year she has steadily taken on more responsibility and leadership with her trademark unflappable attitude. In 2015, it was Anna’s idea to begin in-depth research on the mystery category with an eye toward experimentation and hopeful eventual expansion. Anna spearheaded our education and shortened our overall learning curve, building on knowledge and authors that put us in exactly the right frame to have Poisoned Pen Press join us this year. Along with Robert, Barbara, and the entire PPP team, Anna has managed the PPP transition gracefully, shepherding an entirely new imprint into Sourcebooks. Anna’s acquisitions in adult nonfiction and with Sourcebooks Landmark have left their mark on our point-of-sale figures and on readers, and her agent contacts continue to yield interesting and fruitful projects and partnerships due to her committed relationship-building. When the long-established 1-2-3 Magic brand joined us, Anna took the helm in working with an author used to being in charge of his own publishing company. Anna’s authors love her, whether she’s helping them title a new cozy series (did you know Anna’s very punny?) or rebrand an entire nonfiction program, and that care and attention she devotes to her books is part of what makes her such a great editor. In her new role Anna takes on the leadership of the adult nonfiction program as well as the internal leadership of Poisoned Pen Press. From the new SNAP initiative to bedrock authors like Tom Phelan to exciting new works like MOTHERHOOD SO WHITE and THE GENIUS HABIT, Anna’s work on proactively adapting to a changing marketplace and growing nonfiction is poised to reap success. We’re so excited for Anna to take this next step in her career and we look forward to seeing what she’ll bring us in the future!"
