In The Chalice of Immortality Nick must race against time to find an artifact that has passed through the hands of Shakespeare and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,in order to save his father’s life.

Nick leaves the Winter Palace for England to look for the magical object that represents the very crux of the Magickeepers and Shadowkeepers struggle:magic is neither good nor evil—it is the soul of the magician who determines its value.



Erica Kirov is not from a family of magicians,but she is from a proud family of Russians,and she grew up hearing stories of their lives there. In the last four years,Erica has published eighteen novels for adults. She has garnered rave reviews from US Weekly magazine (twice selected for the “Hot Book Pick”),Cosmopolitan,Kirkus,Women’s World, American Girl magazine,as well as the Chicago Sun Times and a front-page spread in the Flair section of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. I have not read the other two books in the series,but I found it very easy to keep up with the story. The setting of the book is Russia and I really enjoyed the Russian history and culture. I found it very interesting to read about the differences between Russia and America. The story linkts the Chalice of Immortality through many famous people throughout history. It’s created almost like a journal filled with stories and scenes about the chalice and the route it takes through history. There is a lot of history in the story that keeps it believable.

Erica has done an amazing job linking history to the adventures in the story.
