Her sister’s friend is bossy. When Maybelle tried to give her a taste of her own medicine, hilarity ensues with mischievous tricks that go haywire like turning Hailey’s big sister’s bossy friend’s hair green. Maybelle has issues controlling her magic. Hailey on the other hand, learns some valuable lessons throughout the book. My only complaint? I could do without the slang in this book. “This book a great read for younger readers. I know that the book is geared for readers that are between 9-12, but my 6 year old enjoyed it (though she is reading at a much higher level than typical). We read through it together and we both enjoyed it. Actually, seeing that this was the first in the series that we read, my eldest has already said that she would like to read the other books in the series as well.

While I would not always read a book like this myself, I know that it is a book that my daughters would definitely read and I got confirmation of this as we read this together.
