Caregivers will recognize from the slightest twitch the warning signs of a babe moments away from tantrum. "Out to the garden / QUICK / QUICK / QUICK!" Released from the confines of the stroller, the youngster explores. The tot builds blocks with gusto, stirs some mud pies and even shares snacks with the pets before busyness gives way to relaxation. Wavy lines support the growing intensity, while active verbs maintain the spirited pacing. The happy child commands readers attention with oversized head, off-kilter, wide-set eyes, cowlick and lopsided smile. The rhythmic text encourages participation with its enthusiasm. “On with the hose / Off with the shirt / Babys little tummy gets a / SQUIRT / SQUIRT / SQUIRT!” The ministering adult is present only through indication; the diaper-clad star investigates the great outdoors with refreshing abandon.
Heres to the sheer willpower of a baby on the run.
The fidgety baby from Janovitz’s “Baby Baby Baby!” reappears in an everyday context that will be welcomed by babies and their fond but occasionally resentful older siblings alike. The friendly cartoonish drawings and rhythmic text includes lots of “splat splat splats” and “slurp slurp slurps,” which makes for a fun read-aloud for family time. With only a gray kitten and a spotted dog as companions, the baby will be instantly, adorably recognizable to readers finger food, bouncy seat, spilly cup and all.
As baby gets fussy, they head out to the garden where baby is distracted by all sorts of things. The bubbles going pop, pop, pop. The blocks tumbling down and clickity clacking. There are mud pies, water from the hose, even treats to munch. Then everything gets quiet as baby falls asleep.
This charmer of the picture book has a jaunty rhythm mixed with plenty of repetition to catch the attention of very small children. Everything that happens here is what a child would find in their own backyard, making the book all the more interesting to children who will see themselves in it.
I received a copy of Go Baby Go! The sturdy board book contains thick pages full of colorful illustrations. I love to read, I always have. The rhyming is sure to get the attention of your child and delight them. I think that children that are read to are more likely to develop a likeness for reading, as well as a better vocabulary and appreciation for words. This book would make a wonderful gift for any baby.
A board book that will keep you singing and smiling long after the pages are done.
Babys jumping high
Babys bouncing low
Babys flying in the air
Go Go Go!
The illustrations are colorful and lively as the baby and pets go through a fun filled day! Perfect to share anytime and anywhere you want to smile.
I have said it before and I will say it again: I LOVE BOOKS! I love reading them for myself, and I love reading them to my daughter and other kids in my life! I love that my daughter shares my love for books. As far back as I can remember, we have been reading a bedtime book. Now we’re up to three books a night, but I don’t mind! I don’t even mind if it’s the same book every night.
Go Baby Go! written and illustrated by Marilyn Janovitz is super cute book with a great little story to read to your little ones. Even at age four, my daughter loves it, especially the great pictures. They are colorful, bright and cheery. This will be a great book for her when she is learning to read, too. I love the rhyming, and it is very easy to read and follow. Go Baby Go! would make a excellent starter book for that new baby in your life. A great book to add to your library and an all-around good read. Thank you, Marilyn!
Last year around this time I reviewed Baby, Baby, Baby by Marilyn Janovitz and raved about the beautiful flowing rhyme. Well Janovitz fans will be excited to learn that theres a follow-up to Baby Baby Baby and its Go Baby Go!
Go Baby Go! is another beautiful board book that parents will love to read to their little ones...
When baby starts to fidget
We have a little trick
Out to the garden
quick, quick, quick
Once again, the rhyme is fun to read, the words roll off your tongue, and the illustrations will have baby wanting more. From mud pies to blocks to needing a rest, its all covered and youll be reminded at the end how your baby is the best!
This board book for ages 6–24 months book is a follow-up to the author’s successful Baby, Baby, Baby! Marilyn Janovitz has written more than a dozen books for children including Can I Help?, Is It Time?, and What Can Be Keeping Santa?
In Go Baby Go!, the fidgety baby moves outdoors and engages in a number of energetic, fun activities in which the reader is introduced to two family pets: a cat and a dog.
The young reader will see colorful pictures of familiar activities such as building with blocks and knocking them down, making mud pies, and eating lunch with sticky fingers.
Go Baby Go! is written in simple and delightful rhyme. The common, everyday adventures of popping bubbles, bouncing up and down, and feeding pets will appeal to any baby who is actively engaged in exploring and having simple adventures.
Adults reading to the baby can assure themselves that they will be building the child’s vocabulary while sharing a love of reading. Go, Baby, Go! would make a welcome gift for any young childa pleasure to read aloud, over and over.
Author, Marilyn Janovitz has created a follow up book to Baby, Baby, Baby!
Go, Baby, Go! encourages participation between the baby and the reader using actions such as popping bubbles, playing with blocks and munching on snacks.
The quick pace of this book along with the rhyming and word repetition make it a perfect addition to babys book collection. The bright, cheerful illustrations are fun and eye catching, which are also perfect for grabbing a young childs attention.
Go Baby Go! is a cute, playful, humorous book.
Board books are key for young babies and young children who are first being exposed to books. It makes page turning much easier due to a babys reduced dexterity skills, but it also allows the book to be carried around without having to worry about torn pages.
We still give our almost 3 year old board books when he is in a playful mood, but he still would like to read a book independently so that we dont have to use any form of negative talk when he makes the choice to read a book. This way, he can feel independent and we can encourage him to treat a book properly, yet he can still have success.
I am a fan of Marilyn Janovitzs baby board books! They are really sweet.
