Whorls of light gray mist hung in the damp air. His long strides scattered patches of dense fog that hovered above the ground. Hyde Park wasn’t a place anyone should be before dawn, and was the last place he wanted to be on an early Sunday morn with a stubborn female at his side.
As they entered through the west side, he shook his head over the fact that the wet chill of autumn hadn’t kept her in bed no matter how many times he’d tried to get her to stay a little longer. Viscount Brentwood chuckled ruefully at how temperamental she was when she wanted her way and couldn’t get it, and she wasn’t shy about letting him know when she was unhappy. They’d always had a love-hate relationship, and that hadn’t changed since their arrival in London a few days ago.
In the distance, he heard the rattle of what sounded like a cart or wagon approaching, so he moved to the side of the well-worn path. In this area of the wooded park, it was damn near impossible to see anyone or anything until they were almost upon you, unless it was a clear night with a bright hunter’s moon, and there were far too few of them at this time of year. He picked up his pace, wanting to get this shackling ritual behind him and get out of the park before full daybreak.
“Hurry up, now, Pris.”
All he got in answer was a disdainful sniff.
A minute or two later, a rumbling cart emerged out of the mist. It was being pulled by a strapping lad with a felt hat tugged low on his brow. Two young women wearing tattered wool coats and white mobcaps on their heads walked beside it. Over the clanging of milk cans and rattle of squeaking cart wheels, Brent heard feminine giggles as they passed him. They looked at him and laughed again behind their gloved hands. Even the youngster with them glanced back at him and grinned from ear to ear.
Not that he could blame them. It must be quite comical to see a man as tall and broad-shouldered as he walking a dog that wasn’t much bigger than some of the rats seen down at the wharf. Though the deeper into the park he walked, the fog swirled so heavily on the ground he was surprised they could even see the small dog at all. Her head was barely visible above the hovering mist.
“They’re laughing at us, Pris,” Brent murmured softly, his warm breath stirring the moist air.
Judson Allan Brentwood, seventh Viscount Brentwood, took off his hat, smiled good-naturedly, and bowed to the milkmaids who’d turned to watch him and snicker some more. He slurred his words as if a drunkard and said, “What’s da matter there, gels, haven’t ye ever seen a proper gentleman walk his dog in da park before? Come closer, I’ll let you have a pat or two.”
Brent bowed when the girls gasped and quickly turned away from him. Within moments, the trio and cart disappeared into the heavy mist. While holding the leash with one hand, he reached up and settled his hat back on his head. He then lifted the collar of his greatcoat against the chilling air seeping down his neck. He didn’t really mind the milkmaids and lad having a good laugh off his walking his mother’s cherished pet, but he wasn’t so sure he wanted anyone he knew seeing him walk the dog.
If it hadn’t been for his promise to his mother on her deathbed, he would have left the aggravating little mongrel at his estate in Brentwood. He had started to do just that, but at the last minute, his conscience had gotten the better of him, and he’d grabbed up the dog and put her in the carriage. But if she kept yelping before daybreak, the Mayfair town house might not be big enough for the both of them. If that wasn’t bad enough, whenever he was at home, she seemed to always find a way to be underfoot, or scratching on his door, whimpering to get inside and sleep on his bed.
His mother had always treated the dog as if she’d come from a Pomeranian lineage right out of the King’s kennel. Brent harrumphed at that thought. In truth, his mother had no idea of the dog’s ancestry, though it was mixed to be sure.
Oddly though, he was growing a tad fond of the little devil, though he had no idea why. He’d made a vow to his mother that he would take good care of her dog, going so far as to promise her to take the dog for an early morning walk a couple of times a week. That hadn’t been a problem at his estate in Brentwood, but now that he was in London, he could see how the oath to his dearly departed mother would be harder to keep.
Brent allowed the dog to take the lead and adjusted his pace to her stop-sniff-scratch-and-go routine. The horizon lightened from black to light purple and gray as daybreak fanned across the bottom of the sky. The trees and bushes thinned, and some of the fog dissipated the farther into the park they walked, gradually making it easier for him to see.
In the quietness of the morning, Brent couldn’t help but think fondly of his mother. She was a firm believer in being well read, and she saw to it her three sons were, too. She was always quoting someone. She didn’t care if it was Keats, Shakespeare, Byron, or the Bible. She had even been known to use a line or two from a dreadful horrid novel. If she took a fancy to a quote she had read, she’d find a way to use it before the day was over.
But with all her loving sternness, she carried a dark secret. A secret Brent had kept for ten years and would have kept the rest of his life if he could have. But fate stole into their lives with its own plans. He had tried to spare his brothers the nasty gossip about their parentage that was now being whispered behind fans at parties and churned around the gentlemen’s clubs in London like a deadly whirlpool. Though, most of the time, it seemed the ribald rumors and high-stake wagers bothered him more than his brothers. He was thankful his mother hadn’t lived to see the day when her younger twin sons arrived in London.
When it was clear he couldn’t stop Matson and Iverson from making the move from the Americas back to the home of their birth, he’d felt duty bound to join them. Besides, at the age of thirty, it was past time he should be looking for a wife. Over the years, none of the few young ladies who lived in the villages around his Brentwood Estate had caught his fancy, not enough to propose matrimony, anyway. He decided since he had to winter in London, he would make friends among the ton so he would be ready to peruse the marriage mart come spring when the Season started.
Suddenly the mongrel stopped and started barking viciously.
“Quiet, Pris,” Brent said. “You’ll wake the hounds of hell with all that noise. Come on, let’s get this walk finished and get back to Mayfair. I promised to take you for a stroll; I didn’t promise I’d do it for any set length of time. I have better things to do today than mollycoddle you.”
They walked a few more feet, and the dog stopped again and started snarling. Her body stiffened, and she lunged forward. Her eyes fixed on a stand of trees not far away. The hairs on the back of Brent’s neck bristled, and a prickle of something he couldn’t put his finger on moved up his back. He knew Prissy detected something more than just a rabbit or squirrel rustling the bushes.
She sensed danger.

Lady Gabrielle is in a terrible mess! What had she been thinking? She had never even entertained any untoward behavior, let alone actually done something so scandalous as kiss a complete stranger in the middle of the park! The sight of her betrothed in the arms of her sister only moments before was no excuse to throw herself at the handsome man she found walking that tiny dog this morning. What sent matters from bad to worse was the realization that she had not only enjoyed the kiss but was enthusiastically encouraging more at the very moment her father and future in laws approached. Now, not only has Gabrielle humiliated and disgraced herself, she has forced this poor man, Lord Brentwood she is to learn, into an offer of marriage to save both her reputation and his honor. Her sense of justice must take over and find a way to save them from an even bigger catastrophe. The problem is, he isn’t cooperating!

There is much to enjoy in this fun and rather humorous romp of a Regency. Both Gabrielle and Lord Brentwood are delightful characters. Then there are the dogs, both his, hers and assorted others, along with wild escapades that at times border on the silly rather than believable but written with enough flair to make one giggle all the same.



I have read Ms. Grey’s other books in The Rogues’ Dynasty series, so I was excited to see some secondary characters previewed previously brought more to life: such as the twins who look just like Sir Randolph. But these are not the main characters of the story, rather the twins’ older brother, Lord Brentwood.

This story started off with a bang! An intriguing plot and a hero and heroine who sizzled not only with their clandestine kiss, but their witty banter. The banter continued throughout the story, and kept the pages flipping. A cute story, with an interesting secondary plot of dog-knapping. Lots of sensual kisses, some funny twists—loved the scene with the "orbs"!! And you will too, but I’m not telling you what its about, you’ll just have to read it!

The ending was satisfactory in that Gabrielle and Brent do get together despite her, How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, type motivation, and her nasty ex-fiance’s schemes. The mystery of the missing dogs is resolved satisfactorily and actually helps the characters to grow and change which I enjoyed. I did have some tears toward the end, there is a sad moment, which if you are a dog lover, you will cry too! But there was one thing that I wished had been different—Rosabelle, Gabrielle’s selfish sister. I did not like that she had what appeared to be a happy ending. She did nothing but torture her sister the whole book, and Gabrielle just took it. Gabrielle had such a strong backbone, I didn’t understand why when it came to her sister she let her walk all over her. It was reminiscent of Lydia from P&P, the way she was so selfish and willing to do whatever it took to get her way. I wish her ending had been more like Lydia, that after walking all over everyone, she wasn’t so pleased with herself. My dislike of her sister did not detract from the story however, but rather had me itching for Gabrielle to rat her out—which I will not tell you whether or not that happened else it would spoil the story!

Another great story by Ms. Grey! Cheers to you!

I can’t imagine walking up to a stranger in a public park and spontaneously kissing him passionately. That is exactly what well bred Lady Gabrielle did early one morning just one week before her wedding.

Viscount Brentwood was honoring a promise to his late mother by walking her tiny Pomeranian in the park. Last thing he expected was a beautiful woman stepping into his arms and then kissing him with abandon.

Good start to a romance, however, it does get even better. With various family and future family members both pushing them together and trying to divide them, these two manage to find the time to court each other, discourage each other and work together to solve the mystery of dogs going missing from the park. This mystery angle is a new one to me in Regency era romances.

I found this a totally enjoyable story that transported me from the difficulties of my summer (a death in my family) and allowed me to be free for a couple of hours. I would have to say that Aunt Bertie was my favourite character. Lady and Gabrielle and Viscount Brentwood were both well thought out and developed, but it was the Aunt who had my affection. She was smart and a bit quirky, but at the same time, she didn’t let her beloved niece pull the wool over her eyes. I think that we all need one of these aunts in our lives.

Author Amelia Grey also writes under the names Gloria Dale Skinner and Charla Cameron and has 23 novels to her name, with more to come.

WOW! Ms Grey has crafted a wonderful story that grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go until the last :) This was without a doubt one of the best historicals that I have read in a long, long time and you can be sure that I will be reading it again soon.

Secret loves, missing lap dogs, aging mastiffs, a forced mariage....what isn’t to love? Woven in a way that truely awed me, Ms Grey has found a fan for life.

SNAPS in a big way :)

This is what a romance should be! The two main characters absolutely made this book and were everything that they should be. Lady Gabrielle is spunky and doesn’t bend to the will of the men in her life at every turn. Viscount Brentwood was the perfect gentleman with a hint of danger that lurked at the edges of his personality. The two of them together created such a great romance filled with romantic tension and desire. I loved reading about these two and couldn’t wait to see their happy ending. The book itself was a fun read that didn’t take itself too seriously. There were a few moments that had me laughing especially at (if you’ve read the book you’ll understand) the golden orbs part. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the one even if it did win me a few weird looks in the break room. The ending of the book held my only complaint as it was a bit too easily wrapped up but I’ll admit to not caring that much. All in all, this was a great read and this book was enjoyable enough that I would highly recommend it to fans of romance!

Bottom Line: A fun romance with characters that I couldn’t get enough of!

A Gentleman Never Tells is a delightful regency romance novel. I have a great love for regency romance, and I found this novel to be one of the best I’ve read in the genre.

Viscount Brentwood is walking his mother’s small dog in the park one morning when he is met by a beautiful woman walking a very large dog. She is beautiful and suddenly in his arms in a compromising manner. He enjoys the moment only too briefly before he is set upon by Lady Gabrielle’s father, fiancée’s father, and their men.

Now forced to wed, Brent tries to determine why Gabrielle wanted to break her first engagement, and the mystery of where his mother’s dog disappeared to during the moment of passion. Meanwhile, Gabrielle tries to show Brent that she would not make a suitable bride as she is determined to not to be forced into marriage.

I really enjoyed this regency romance novel. The characters were first rate. I loved Brent and Gabrielle and the secondary characters were also very delightful. I enjoyed how the romance developed in the novel, and I really enjoyed the mystery. I’m an animal lover and I enjoyed how the two characters bonded over their dogs and the mystery of what happened to Brent’s mother’s dog.

A Gentleman Never Tells is not your average historical romance. Ms. Grey is extremely creative and adds individual details in her writing that others tend to neglect. She keeps your interest from start to finish and sometimes that’s hard to come by.

Lady Gabrielle discovers her sister kissing her fiance and flees to the park to think things through. There she meets a handsome viscount and soon she’s discovered in a compromising position by her own father and her future father-in-law. How did this happen and what will she do now? She simply can’t ruin the viscount’s life with this scandal!

I adore the characters in this story and the path Ms. Grey takes them on as they plot and deceive to lesson the impact of scandal on each other. There’s plenty of humor to go along with the romance and I laughed loud and often. A Gentleman Never Tells is fun and easy to read. You’ll be surprised how quickly you get to that happily ever after, but you’ll be looking for the next Amelia Grey romance as soon as you do!

Viscount Brentwood (Brent) is walking his mother’s dog, Prissy, though Hyde Park when he runs into a beautiful young lady who is accompanied by an extremely large dog. They exchange a few words, and then - she kisses him!!! Before he knows what happened, her father and her fiancee’s father are there, demanding to know how long they’ve been secretly meeting. Naturally Gabrielle’s engagement is called off and Gabrielle’s father, the Duke of Windergreen, demands that Brent marry her to salvage her honor. He threatens Brent’s younger brothers’ new shipping company if he does not comply. In the confusion, Prissy runs away.

Lady Gabrielle just caught her younger sister kissing Gabrielle’s fiancee! Distraught, she takes her mastiff, Brutus, for a walk through Hyde Park. She comes upon a gentleman walking a tiny dog, and after a few minutes, leans in and kisses him! She doesn’t have explanation for her behavior, she was overcome with curiosity and kissed him, and she liked it. She’s pleased she’ll no longer have to wed her fiancee, but when her father informs her she’ll be marrying Brent instead she is horrified - she doesn’t want to be forced to marry.

As Gabrielle works to convince Brent that he doesn’t want to marry her, he realizes more and more that he does. Gabrielle wants a husband that wants her, not one that’s being forced to marry her.

My thoughts:
A Gentleman Never Tells was adorable! I liked both Gabrielle and Brent, they were honorable characters without being saccharinely so. It was funny to watch their story unfold from each of their viewpoints, if only they would have communicated more with each other! The secondary storyline revolving around Prissy being missing was a nice diversion to get these two to spend time together. I liked that the H/H were both dog lovers.

With respect to the secondary characters - they were a juicy bunch! Gabrielle’s sister and ex-fiancee totally deserved each other; that’s all I’m saying about that. Brent’s younger twin brothers were rakish fun - I hope they each get a story. Gabrielle’s aunt, who came down to visit for the-wedding-that-didn’t-happen, is one of those characters who is insightful and fun. I hope now that she’s in London she’ll continue to try the Duke’s patience!

All in all, A Gentleman Never Tells is a sweet story featuring an adorable couple, their canine companions, a feisty pair of twins, and a mysterious pet thief.

I have read books by Amelia Grey before (Never A Bride) and liked it quite a bit. I was looking forward to this one. A forced marriage is one of my favorite romance plots ever. This one seemed to be a great example of that plot.

Gabrielle was a fine heroine. She had spunk and charisma. I liked her. There were, however, some things about her that just frustrated me. She was so manipulated by her moron of a sister. I really wanted Rosa to get her comeuppance. She so deserved it. I also really liked Brent. Who wouldn’t like a hero that you first meet while he walks his very very small dog? He was a true gentleman. I liked a bit more than I did Gabrielle and I very rarely like the hero more than the heroine.

I thought that Brent and Gabrielle had wonderful chemistry but I wish that the story had focused a bit more on them as a couple. I thought there was a bit too much focus on the missing dog and Rosa. I wanted to see a bit more development between our main couple. I did love the focus on the dogs—especially Brutus. I have a weakness for big lumbering dogs and Brutus reminded me of my old dog. He had me in tears because he brought back so many memories. This book had a bit of everything. Humor, romance, mystery and comedy of errors and all of it was done well.

The Heroine: After witnessing her fiancé and sister in each other’s arms, Lady Gabrielle desires to be kissed in a similar manner and to break off her engagement. The man she meets in the park inspires her to take a risk and steal a kiss.

The Hero: Rendered speechless with desire, Viscount Brentwood accepts a kiss from the lady in the mist only to be embroiled in scandal and to lose his mother’s dog. He’s upset, but not overly so, to find himself Gabrielle’s newest fiancé. All he wants to know is why she did it… and perhaps to steal a few more kisses.

Review: I love a hero who isn’t upset at anything or everything (though sometimes heroes who are can be fun too ;) ). Gabrielle is mortified to have accidentally snared the Viscount and is determined to convince him that a duke’s daughter is the worse sort of woman to marry.

All her attempts though, Brent can see right through and it amuses him instead of angers him. You can’t help but love a hero who is willing to sit through the worst dull and tedious piano recital and commend the heroine for making the afternoon so bad she drove everyone out leaving them alone to kiss some more.

What I didn’t like was the heroine’s feisty aunt (too convenient/cliché) and the sister/fiancé (I don’t see that ever working especially after Gabrielle confronts the man to make an honest woman of her sister.)

After all, their birth father was a prominent man in society. Sure enough after moving to London, the twins and their resemblance to their father became the talk of the ton.

Lady Gabrielle, the daughter of the Duke of Windergreen, was engaged to marry an earl. But just days before the wedding, when she happened upon her younger sister Rosabelle exchanging a passionate kiss with the earl, something happened to Gabriel. She wanted to know the kind of passion she had witnessed between her sister and her fiancé. Gabrielle did not love her husband-to-be, the marriage had been arranged between her father and her fiancé’s father for their financial benefit.

Brent was out early, taking his mother’s Pomeranian for a walk and hoping none of his friends saw him. He had promised his mother on her deathbed to take care of her beloved dog, Pris. Suddenly, Pris began snarling and a beautiful woman stepped out of the mist with a huge mastiff at her side. After exchanging a few words, she stepped up to Brent and kissed him. Startled, he let go of Pris as the world dropped away. Suddenly, several men, including Gabrielle’s father and future father-in-law appeared and a fuss ensued. Not taking the scene well, Gabrielle’s future father-in-law blamed her and called off the wedding. Hearing his dog, Pris, yell as if in pain, Brent ran to her aid. However, thinking he was running away, the duke sent his servants after him. Before he could find Pris, the servants tackled him to the ground.

Despite her father’s demands that she explain her actions, she refused to say anything about what she had seen between her sister and her fiancé. Having failed to patch up the broken engagement, the duke demanded that Brent marry Gabrielle. Since Brent had planned to look for a bride anyway and could not deny his attraction to Gabrielle, he agreed to the duke’s plan. However, after receiving her freedom from her current fiancé, Gabrielle did not want to enter into another forced engagement. But the duke has threatened to ruin Brent’s twin brother’s shipping business if the marriage does not go forth as planned. Brent has no intention of letting his brothers be ruined because of his actions, but he also sees the wedding in a positive way. He had planned on seeking a wife and as a duke’s daughter; she would make him the perfect wife. Gabrielle is convinced that Brent is only willing to marry her because he is being forced into it. So after talking to him and seeing that Brent is determined to make her his wife; she sets out to prove to him that she will make him a terrible wife. But each scheme she comes up with fails and lands them in one scandal after another. Can she convince Brent to call off the engagement, or will her actions bring them closer together?

A beautifully written tale, A GENTLEMAN NEVER TELLS, the fourth book in author Amelia Grey’s ROGUE’S DYNASTY series, is a delightfully delicious historical romance set in the Regency era. Brimming with humor, sizzling hot love scenes, charismatic and compelling characters, a touch of mystery, terrific repartee, love, an intriguing plot and disappearing dogs, this book is a delight. Gabrielle’s Aunt Bethie is a very appealing character, a straight shooter who says what she thinks with droll humor. Seeing her sister and her fiancé in a passionate embrace had a profound effect on Gabrielle, turning her from an obedient daughter into a woman with a strong will of her own. It is this event which spurs her into taking the action of seeking out a stranger and kissing him. But she always wants to do the right thing and feels bad after she gets him in trouble. Perhaps Brent could have evaded the parson’s trap by explaining that Gabrielle had instigated their encounter, but after all, A GENTLEMAN NEVER TELLS. Besides, the sexual chemistry between Gabrielle and Brent is off the charts, and he is determined not to let her go. Between Gabrielle’s antics and the mystery behind the disappearing dogs, readers are compelled to eagerly turn the pages to discover the outcome. For an enjoyable read, I highly recommend A GENTLEMAN NEVER TELLS.

My Thoughts:

A Gentleman Never Tells is a delightful, witty, and enjoyable read.

Brent is prince charming cleverly disguised as the boy next door. He is loyal to his family, kind to animals, smart, funny, and just one of those really nice guys. He has decided it is time to marry and has come to London to find a bride. One morning he is walking his deceased mother’s prized pet Prissy when he encounters an enchanting young women who mysteriously materializes in the park and kisses him.

Gabrielle has been an obedient daughter for as long as she can remember. However, when she discovers her younger sister in her fiancée’s arms, she is shaken to her core and finds herself walking her faithful mastiff in the park when she encounters Brent. A rebellious moment later she finds herself in his arms experiencing the most wondrous kiss of her life.

Gabrielle and Brent’s tryst is discovered by her father and her fiancé’s father and this eventful encounter changes their lives forever. Gabrielle and Brent struggle with the deepening of their relationship and people that want to tear them apart. The dialogue is witty and humorous and had me often laughing out load.

Both main characters are likeable, charismatic and warm-hearted. Gabrielle’s antics are the epitome of a women torn between what her heart really desires and what she believes is right thing that should be done. She is a bit naive but what girl in that time wouldn’t be? The secondary characters in the book are as wonderfully written and add just the right balance to the plot.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book. I loved the plot, the characters and I really like the cover for the book. A sparkling addition to my historical romance bookshelf!


Lady Gabrielle thinks the easiest way of breaking off her engagement would be to get caught kissing another man. What she doesn’t expect is to find herself engaged to other man.

Lord Brentwood is out for an early morning walk with his dog when a beautiful woman comes out of nowhere with a dog of her own. In the early morning mist and with the sun rising, Brent finds himself kissing this mystery woman. All is well until her father appears along with her soon to be father-in-law.

Determined to right his wrong, Brent sets out to marry Gabrielle but she fights him at every turn hoping he will see how unsuitable she is. However, her plan backfires and Brent becomes more intrigued.

It is rare for me to immediately like the heroine from the very beginning but with Gabrielle I did. She isn’t some scheming debutante trying to hook a man, but a girl who didn’t think out her plan very well. She is more concerned with everyone else’s happiness then her own reputation. When she tries to push Brent away because she wants him to be able to choose his own bride is where I really fell in love with her.

I fell for Brent on the first page when he is out walking this little lap dog. Any man who loves a dog is going to be a good husband. Brent is that good guy you want to have as a friend. He cares deeply for his family and is very protective of them. Surprisingly, I found A Gentleman Never Tells more of a heroine driven romance but love Brent all the same.

I cannot wait to see more of Brent’s brothers. They are twins but have such different personalities but are almost like one person. They seem very mischievous and I loved when they stormed into Brent’s bedroom and had a whole conversation about him with out including him. They are the typical younger brothers, annoying their older brother and I already love them.

Fans of Amelia Grey’s The Rouge Dynasty series will enjoy seeing Sir Randolph Gibson. A Gentleman Never Tells picks up where An Earl to Enchant ends. There is absolutely no need to read the previous books but those who have read the previous series will enjoy seeing some familiar faces, like Lord Waldo.

A GENTLEMAN NEVER TELLS by Amelia Grey is an exciting historical romance set in Regency England. It is written with depth and details. The characters are charming,enchanting,engaging and will capture your heart. How much trouble could one little kiss cause,Viscount Brentwood is soon to fine out when the delightful,enchanting Lady Gabrielle does just not,one early morning in the park. This is a beautifully written story of love,passion,romance,sweet sensuality,witty dialogue,scandal,a touch of mystery,a touch of suspense and family drama. It will keep you turning pages from the first sentence to the last sentence. While Viscount Brentwood and Lady Gabrielle learn to trust each other,find their happiness,fight their attraction to each other,deal with a little family drama and did I mention dogs. One kidnapped,while the other is growing older.You can only delight in this plot and cast of characters. This is a must read and a keeper. Lady Gabrielle is the daughter of a powerful Duke. Viscount Brentwood is recently returned from America with his twin brothers. He is walking his deceased mother’s small dog in the park early one morning when a beautiful woman comes out of the mist. He can’t believe it when she just ups and kisses him.


He further can’t believe it when he is tackled by her father’s and her future father in law’s men. He literally doesn’t know what just hit him. But being a Gentleman he knows his future has just been altar-ed. So to speak.


He does not know why Gabrielle kissed him but he does know that he needs a wife and one of her station and looks will be just fine. Gabrielle though does not want him to feel forced into marriage. SHE does not want to be forced into marriage.


What will happen? Will these too find their way to one another?


This is a light tale of love discovered; love strong enough to survive the old adage "if you love her let her go..." Gabrielle and Brent come to each other slowly and the tale of their getting to know each other is typical but well written. The characters are stock but have endearing quirks; Gabrielle has a rather large dog and Brent has his mother’s tiny one. They care strongly for family members and that drives their actions which therefore drives the plot.


It was easy to read and in true romantic fashion had a happy ending. I was able to read it in one day and it would make a good beach read.
