...
Chihuawolf is a true children’s story, clearly written, with chapters that read well aloud. Its age appropriate cute drawings humorously illustrate some of this tale’s best moments. Boys and girls alike will enjoy the of a talking dog who wants to be big, mighty, and fearless.
Pampered Paco is Mexican short hair chihuahua (the smallest dog breed). He wants to win the heart of Afghan Natasha. His problem is that he thinks because he is only seven pounds that he is too puny and tiny to be taken seriously. Then Natasha disappears.
Paco enlists the help of Professor Pewy Pewmount, Norma-jean, Little Annie, Coco ,and the forest’s insects, and four legged animals to save the day. They face danger to keep ten year old Olivia and her friends safe bring Natasha home safely from Mount Diablo.
This is an adventure of courage, wisdom, and insight. Sayings like “Even a difficult journey over the tallest mountains goes downhill half the time,” “Never give up,” and “Success owes much to luck. It owes more to good planning. Most of the timer it needs a good does of both,” flavor the story. This book is imaginative, entertaining, and not preachy. Young readers will appreciate its lesson: Size doesn’t matter; heart does.
Chihuawolf
Paco,a smart,fashionably-dressed Chihuahua, lives in a snug and comfortable world as the pampered pet of tenyear- old Olivia. Although he is locked into a perpetual battle with a pair of cats, his real problem is Natasha, the gorgeous Afghan hound he adores, but who thinks he is just too tiny to be taken seriously. Determined to change his outside to reflect the lion-hearted courage he possesses inside,Paco decides to do something drastic. He will transform into the biggest, fiercest canine he can imagine:a Chihuawolf!
Ok,even though this is a book for kids,I thoroughly enjoyed it! Yes,Poco is the underdog, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a big heart! Poco. Paco might be little but he has big ideas and uses one to save his beloved.

But when Natasha is kidnapped, he discovers that maybe he can be a hero just the way he is.
About the Author: Charlee Ganny is the USA Today bestselling author of the vampire spy series, The Darkwing Chronicles, written under the pen name Savannah Russe, but middle grade is her real passion. She lives high up on a hill in a 150-year-old farmhouse near Harveys Lake, PA. She has too many cats to count, three dogs, and regular wild visitors, including a skunk named Professor Pewmount. She is a writer and a dreamer, and what she dreams...she writes.
My Take on the Book:
This was a fun story that I really encourage all to read. The name alone for me was something that drew me in. The book was not what I would have expected, but that is a good thing. I was able to actually get through the entire book in one read and I know you will as well. There are laughs as well as a bit of intrigue mixed into the story. I know if you are at all like me you will be wrapped into the book until the very end!
