Nine stanzas of appealing verse show a baby playing with family members and pets, taking a bath, and going to bed. “Bitsy bouncy baby / On a bumpity lap / Mommy’s little baby likes to / CLAP / CLAP / CLAP!” Although the text is a bit longer than that of most board books, its bouncy verses will hold young children’s attention with rhythm, rhyme, repeated phrases, and references to familiar things. Meanwhile, the digital artwork illustrates the cheerful characters in squiggly, black line drawings brightened with bold patterns and colors. Encouraging interaction between parent and child, this board book reflects babies’ everyday activities with verve and joy.
Baby Baby Baby! is simply one of the most adorable, sweet and tantalizing board books for little ones that I have seen in a while. The illustrations are bold, bright and colorful - perfect to keep little ones attention! The text is delightfully fun, rhyming and has a repetitive nature that is perfect for an infant/baby range. The board pages are strong and sturdy, so no fears as your little one explores the book on his or own own, about pages ripping or becoming creased and crinkled.
I had so much fun reading this story. I read it to my son - who is four and a bit out of the age range, however it is fun to have your older child do the actions to the story as you read. For example, when baby likes to clap, clap, clap or dance, dance, dance, how fun to have your child interact and bring the story to life as you read. Also great for introducing simple reading and repeating to those emerging readers.
Baby Baby Baby! is guaranteed to be a wonderful hit for snuggle time and will have both you and your baby giggling and smiling! Perfect for a gift for someone you love and/or a stocking stuffer for your little one!

This board book is sure to be a hit, and will be adored by newborns to age 5. The illustrations, also by Janovitz, are lovely and perfectly matched to the sweet text. This would be a great gift for any little one. My four year old daughter enjoyed listening to it at bedtime, and thought the pictures were “vewy funny”. It’s a perfect gift for a special little person during the holidays!

I love board books whose verse is basically a set of things that you can act out with your baby. When you read things like “Give your nose a wiggle,” how can you help but wiggle baby’s little nose? There’s also a nice rhythm to this book as the little baby does something with each member of the family (even puppy and kitty), like this verse for daddy:
Teeny tiny feet
Tippy toes prance
Daddy’s little baby likes to
DANCE
DANCE
DANCE
And then it winds down to a lovely good night ending.
(I received a review copy of Baby Baby Baby.)
Baby Baby Baby! by Marilyn Janovitz is a perfect gift for the infant or toddler in your life.
The board book is entertaining and fun and Adults won’t mind reading this one over and over again. That’s a win in my book!

In the past few months Colton has really begun to enjoy books, he enjoys me reading to him and he also likes to flip through books while he is playing and :read: them by himself. Board books are perfect this since they allow him to turn pages easily and I do not have to worry about him ripping pages out (which has happened to quite a few of our traditional paper paged books).
Baby, Baby, Baby is one of Colton’s favorite books, he enjoys reading it to himself and he enjoys mommy or daddy reading it to him. I personally like this book because it allows me to have fun and interact with Colton while reading it. Colton’s favorite part is when Baby goes “Clap, Clap, Clap”. It is so cute, as soon as we get to that page he starts clapping because he knows the “Clap, Clap, Clap” part is coming.

Throughout this book, the baby goes through a variety of sound-and-motion actions such as clapping, dancing, giggling, crawling, etc. It is an engaging book and encourages your little one to follow along. Each action is repeated so children can pick up the pattern and act out the motions and read along. This book made my son laugh.

Now you may think I have lost it but I like reading fun rhyming words to the kids. It makes them laugh and smile and clap. Princess Emma wants to repeat what I say while the great niece is dancing along with the rhythm of the words.
This cardboard book (yeah for sturdy books) helps with the night time reading. That putting to bed time. Saying goodnight to all, mom, dad, grandfolks, pets, John Boy. Well, okay, not John Boy...but you know what I mean. We have to include everyone each night. But it sure does make my heart swell when Princess Emma says, "Aunt Tuzy, I keep you in my heart right here."
When I received this book I thought my kids, ages 3yrs and 5yrs, might feel it was to young for them. I was pleasantly surprised when they both took to the book, enjoying the illustrations as well as the rhymes. They actually asked me to read it several times in a row the first night we had it. Since then it has become a regular favorite. Seems like the nights theyre feeling most snuggly are the nights they request this book for a bedtime story.
A super cute board book. And dont let its title fool you because my toddler LOVES this book. With its rhyming and activity its a great board book for toddlers and preschoolers too.
It will have your "baby" clapping and giggling the whole way through!
It would make a great stocking stuffer for the little one on your list this holiday season!
This book is so stinkin cute! Audrey loved the book, heck I think its her favorite now. I love how the words rhyme, and the rhythm you get when reading it. No doubt this is probably my favorite board book, that Audrey owns! She loves reading it all the time, and laughs at the way I read it.

Bedtime might just become a bit easier with the help of Janovitzs Baby Baby Baby!. We love getting new books at our house. One of our recent favorites is Baby Baby Baby written and illustrated by Marilyn Janovitz. My almost 2 year old loves this board book. So does Mommy! Books with rhymes are great for helping kids learn the words.

“Bitsy bouncy baby

I like to read it like this “Bitsy bouncy baby, On a bumpity lap, Mommy’s baby likes tooooo……?” and let her try to guess the rest of the phrase. Because of the rhyme, it gives her an extra clue to go along with the picture. Then we clap our hands together. Other things that the baby does in the book with each member of the family include, hugging and kissing which of course I can’t get enough of!
McKinley likes to read the book over and over and since it’s a short and fun read, I am happy to oblige! It’s a fun way to spend time together.

Baby Baby Baby will stand up to countless readings plus the typical wear a toddler can wreak on a book, thanks to its hard and durable cover. The text is in bold black letters, centered so baby can focus on it easily. The illustrations by Janovitz feature curves and soft shapes, with a rainbow of colors and patterns. Baby’s jumper is thin and red white stripes, she sits in front of a green wallpaper with multiple squares. All details that will catch developing minds’ eyes. Recommended for Leslie Patricelli fans.
I have finally had the chance to read this book to a 5 month old. Hilarity ensued. She loved the bright graphics (which is perfect for babies!) and the tone and
quickness of the book was great to read and listen to. As an added bonus all the pages include rhymes that are actually doable for both baby and reader. With the repetition of the actions, the babies will be able to work on word recognition. GIGGLE GIGGLE GIGGLE. That’s the one that got the most response. And of course watching a 5 month old giggle is quite contagious. This was a fun book, even the 40th time she had me read it to her

My Thoughts on Baby Baby Baby!
Between the repetition and the rhyming kids of all ages will find something to like about this board book. Author Marilyn Janovitz accurately describes the actions of a little baby just learning to explore her world, whether its playing clapping games on mama’s lap or dancing in daddy’s arms. She also interacts with the family cat and dog as well as grandma and grandpa. Each page is full of actions and descriptions of the daily activities of the little exploring baby.
This is a fun read for your little one, even before she understands the words. She’ll like the sounds and the pictures. I do.

Looking for a new book to read to your baby? Well here it is. Baby Baby Baby is a new book from author and illustrator, Marilyn Janovitzhas. This book features a bouncy, giggly baby who loves to spend time with each member of the family including, Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, and even puppy and kitty.
I read this book with my daughter, Hailey and she giggled right along with the baby. My in-laws live downstairs from us so she spends time with them regularly, plus we have a kitty and a puppy, so Hailey could relate to everything that the baby went through.
Baby baby Baby is perfect for your young child. It makes a great bedtime story, but also a great anytime story as well. This is one book you can be sure both you and your child will love to read together.
What do babies love more than...well, babies? This rhyming book is full of fun. Listen to the rhythm. It sounds like a song.

My little Y is really enjoying this story. He asks for it over and over, saying, "Baby Baby Baby boooook". Its pretty darn cute!
Another big plus for this book, is that it shows a traditional family, which is unfortunately becoming more and more unusual. It shows baby playing with mom, dad, Grandma, Grandpa, and the puppy and kitty.
I just finished reading this sweet book Baby Baby Baby by Marilyn Janovitz to Piper. In the book the little baby does various activities with each member of the family, including Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Kitty, and Puppy. Things like clapping, crawling and hugging. Its cute if you make it interactive when the story says things like "clap, clap, clap." Piper loved it because she pointed out the things our baby does like crawling. Personally I like simple, clean and cute books that are fun to read and this was all of that.
Its true that all a board book really needs to fulfill its purpose is durability. Be the book that can stand up to the rigors of a toddler and everyone loves you. Every once in awhile, a board book will come along that catches my attention by going over and above my expectations. I particularly like this one because of the flowing rhyme. Reading this is as close to singing without actually singing. Its catchy and fun!
Like most great board books, this has a simple set up. Everyone in the family, from Mommy all the way down to the family cat, has an activity they love to do with baby. Daddys baby likes to dance, Grandmas baby likes to splash in the bath, and Puppys little baby likes to crawl. The book has a nice little wind down where the baby does some hugging and snuggling and settles down for sleep. The verb is printed in triplicate, like in this excerpt:
Bitsy bouncy baby

The bright colors (moms red hair - wow!) are stimulating and the illustrations are pleasing - we particularly liked the perfectly round heads. Clearly, this is a book for younger children, but my six year old has been reading it aloud for several days. Hes hooked on the the rhymes and enjoys acting out the motions. If an older kid has taken this much of a shine to it, I imagine younger children would be bowled over. The downside to this book - its so freaking catchy that I cant get it out of my head! Daddys little baby likes to dance, dance, dance!

This is now a book we read before bed every night! It is so cute- really it is.
This is my little pea enjoy her Baby Baby Baby! book before we get in the tub.
This board book is so much fun to read aloud. The rhythm reminds me a little bit of Baby Danced the Polka, but without the hokey sayings. The illustrations are simple and playful; they star the baby pictured on the cover, doing all sorts of baby things, like crawling, splashing, giggling, and hugging. The Bibliophile (nearly 3) laughs often as he reads it. I think it is one hell enjoy reading to his little sister.

Looking for a new story to read to your baby? You might want to check out Baby Baby Baby!, a cute new board book by Marilyn Janovitz. Perfect to read to your baby (or a new big brother or sister), the book shows an adorable little baby interacting with each member of the family.
The writing is short, rhythmic and easy to memorize (perfect for sleep deprived parents) and I think you will find yourself smiling at the cute antics and sweet illustrations along with your kiddos.
Although I received this book to review with my one year old, her four year old big brother is also a pretty big fan. I think the repetitive story telling is perfect for little ones learning reading concepts – giving this book a pretty long shelf life.
This book packs a lot of good things in a small package: sweet illustrations, fun writing, rhymes, an introduction to family members and all of the things a baby can (and will!) do. So whether you are reading to a baby, toddler or preschooler, you are likely to find a happy audience.

My Thoughts:
This is such a fun children’s book. Both my 2 year old and 1 year old enjoy reading this fun story. The rhyming and phrases flow so nicely and have a nice ring to it. The pages are all so brightly colored and the pictures are adorable! The baby is featured in every illustration doing some action or another to match the words in the story. It is fun to have your baby / child do the actions with the story like clap, dance, and hug to name a couple of them. Baby Baby Baby! is a thick board book so I feel comfortable letting my children play with the book and look at it on their own which they love to do; it is very sturdy. I would recommend this book as a gift or for your own child. It’s very attractive and cute for babies and toddlers.
Who likes Board Books? We do we do! They are so perfect for reading to your little one. You don’t have to worry about torn pages and they wipe clean pretty easily. Mikey has a new favorite book and it is called BABY BABY BABY! This book is perfect for little ones it has a nice sing songy story line that keeps kids interested. The pictures are adorable and it has a lot of action words that you can actually do a long with the story like clapping, dancing, hugs, and kisses and so much more.

Baby, Baby, Baby!, a new board book by Marilyn Janovitz, may be just the thing for younger siblings of mother-daughter book club girls. Sturdy pages are easy for little hands to grip as they go through the story of a baby’s day. There’s lots of alliteration and repetition and there are also opportunities for actions, like clapping, splashing water, bouncing, tickling and more.
Parents, grandparents and pets all interact with baby as the day goes on until a very tired baby goes to sleep. This is just the kind of book I loved to read with my daughters on my lap when they were very young. It’s also one you won’t get tired of reading over and over and over again, perfect for bedtime or even just a reading break during the day.
Baby Baby Baby! is an adorable little board book written by Marilyn Janovitz. Its 24 pages are filled with rhymes, bright colors, and a cute little story about a darling little baby and its family. It teaches family recognition as the baby spends time with each member of the family including Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and even their cat and dog.
We read this in the daycare and the baby and toddler I watch were fascinated by it. They both have looked at it many times since. My own preschool and grade school-aged kids thought the story was cute, but a little “babyish” for them. This book is now in our daycare library and I have seen all the kids reading it and admiring its pictures.
This book retails for $7.99 and would make a great gift for anyone with small children, especially infants and toddlers. You can find Baby Baby Baby! on Sourcebooks.com, Amazon.com, and at other major book retailers.

When I first opened this book and read through it my impression was “cheesy”, but when I actually read it to my 6 month old son it works. Yes, you might not want others around while reading, but the rhyme sequence and meter are such that it’s a really fun read. The simple line drawn yet colorful illustrations are engaging for babies, but not too busy. And most of the activities that are listed you can do with baby, clap, dance, hug, kiss, etc.
It’s great as a bedtime book because the last part is about a bedtime baby wanting to snuggle. My favorite time of day (the snuggling, but yes, the bedtime too)! But really you can read it anytime, just read to your baby!
As an added endorsement, even my three year old wants me to read it to him!

Although I finished this board book, Baby Baby Baby, in less than five minutes, I must admit that the book and its author sent me on my way with with a feel-good smile that lasted a long, long time.
Baby Baby Baby, by talented author/illustrator Marilyn Janovitz, is so sweet it actually leaves you aching to put your arms around the first wiggly, squirmy baby you come across.
Baby Baby Baby follows the antics of an lively little baby that loves to bounce on laps, dance on tippy-toes (with daddys help), and enter a crawling race with the family dog. The author conjurs up sweet memories of bonding time with baby by presenting all sorts of familiar illustrations, like Baby splashing bubbles in its bubbly bathwater, Baby playing peek-a-boo with the cat, and Baby snuggling in mommys soft arms. Good stuff!
The book is lightweight but board-book toughmeaning it should hold up well under curious baby hands and drooling baby mouths just getting their teeth. The illustrations are spot-on, capturing the wide-eyed, wiggly-bottomed antics of the typical baby, and the proud and loving looks of the parents and family members who love them.
For the perfect lap book, bedtime book, or just plain "bonding" book, read Baby Baby Baby with your favorite wiggly baby. Youre in for good times when you do.
Im sure most of you probably know by now that we are big readers in our family. I have read to both of my kids since they were newborns. Now that my 6 year old Jeremy is started to read on his own Aubrey likes to take her books and cuddle next to her brother and "read" her books too.
We were recently sent the new book Baby Baby Baby! by Marlilyn Janovitz. This Board Book was just recently released October 1st 2010. The storyline as well as the pictures are adorable.
The book encourages actions such as clapping, hugging, kissing and much more before going off to bed. Aubrey and I love to read a good book before bedtime and this story is perfect. The baby in the book has lots of interaction with family and it is a very lovely book.
This picture above is of Aubrey reading Baby Baby Baby! right before bedtime. This is now one of her favorite books to read before bedtime. Its the perfect size for her little hands to hold and carry around. If you have little ones I highly recommend this book. It retails for $7.99 and you can purchase Baby Baby Baby! online.

Baby Baby Baby! reminded me of Bouncy Baby by Begin Smart. (If you click through to my review, youll see how VERY similar the opening pages are. Down to the clap, clap, clap and dance, dance, dance.) These two were so similar that its almost impossible not to compare them. At first.
What makes Baby Baby Baby different is that everyone has a chance to claim this little one! Mommy. Daddy. Grandpa. Grandma. And even the puppy and the kitty! (For example, puppys little baby likes to crawl, crawl, crawl. And Kittys little baby likes to chase, chase, chase.)
Its also longer than Bouncy Baby. This baby does moremore than just clapping, dancing, eating, splashing, waving. Grandpa has a chance to make the baby giggle. Grandma helps out at bath time. And theres a sweet bedtime scene with plenty of hugs and kisses.
Its not quite as rhythmic as Bouncy Baby. But I liked it well enough.
My toddler just received the new board book Baby Baby Baby! to add to her library. It’s a bouncy story about a little baby that does various activities with each family member (including the kitty and puppy) before bedtime.
The author and illustrator Marilyn Janovitz writes the text in flowing rhyme which makes it nice and sing-songy for a child to hear.
Bitsy Bouncy Baby
On A Bumpity Lap
Mommy’s Baby Like To

My 24-month-old does pay attention while I read it. My 4-year-old doesn’t like it all. Therefore, stick to getting this for toddlers. The only criticism I have is that I wish this was a feel and touch or a lift the flaps book. It would enhance the story more by making the reader participate.
Alysas take:
On the day my new baby was officially two weeks old, this review copy came to my door. How fun! And Im happy to say that it is just as fun to read with a two-year old as with a new baby. The bright illustrations provide visual entertainment, and the baby is dressed in gender neutral colors. The text is easy to turn into actions for a crazy toddler. Also, something I find important with rhyming books, the meter is not stilted or difficult to figure out.
Ashleys take:
I have had great fun reading this book with my 8-month-old. The interactivity of it is so cute. He just grins and grins as we clap hands, "nuzzle babys ears," "tickle your face," and "Dance, dance, dance!" The rhyming is sweet-no trite "nose" and "toes" combos. Totally cute board book. Definitely recommended for your bitsy bouncy baby. :)
A board book filled with a jaunty rhythm and fun rhymes, this is a book that the littlest ones are going to love (and so will their grown ups!) The book starts with action and movement, like clapping hands, dancing feet, and crawling away. It then moves into preparation for bedtime with a bubbly bath, laughs, and some peek-a-boo. Oh, and a little chasing of the cat too. Then it slows down into hugs, sleeping and kisses.
Though the rhythm stays the same all the way through, it can be read with plenty of action and then moves gracefully into the quieter moments. The verse is engaging and fun, matching well with the illustrations which are filled with color and pattern. Plenty of bright colors also transition at the end to more pastels, making the quiet part that much more soothing.
A very cute board book to share with a toddler or baby story time or to have at home to enjoy again and again. Appropriate for ages 1-3.
This is a wonderful board book that connects with even the youngest readers!
The book follows the baby through his day while he does various actions such as clapping, hugging, kissing, and more with his various family members before bedtime!
It is a fabulous book to read before bedtime!
My 15 month old loved to do what the baby did!
I love high fives, hugs, and kisses galore! :)
Something mommy definitely didnt mind!
It is excellent for toddlers because it is a board book, and harder to destroy!
I LOVE Marilyn Janovitzs new board book, Baby Baby Baby! It is adorable - the rhyming aspect is so fun and it really lends itself to a sing-song feel that I know would work perfectly in our Babygarten or Toddler Storytime. The illustrations are also a perfect fit for this book - they are fun, whimsical and add such a clever feel to this story. I highly recommend this one!!
In my parenting book, Boosting Your Babys Brain Power, my co-author and I talk about the importance of reading to children as early as possible, even in the baby years! This helps in language development because, when you read to your little one, his or her brain is making connections in understanding the rhythm of language, the particular sounds of your native language, and the meaning of voice tones when you read. It improves your child’s listening skills, memory, and attention span. It also promotes bonding between you and your baby.
I recently came across a fantastic book for reading with your baby. It’s called, appropriately enough, Baby Baby Baby! by Marilyn Janovitz. This adorable board book (great for little hands) has plenty of rhythm and sound words so you can use lots of expression when reading to your baby. For example, one page says, “Teeny tiny feet, Tippy toes prance, Daddy’s little baby likes to DANCE DANCE DANCE!” Of course, this is a great time to make little dance moves with your baby’s feet while you read! Other pages encourage clapping, crawling, giggling, splashing in the bath, and more. The illustrations are bright, colorful, and adorable. I also love that the baby in the book interacts with several members of the family, such as Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, and even the family pets! At the end of a busy day, Baby gets a hug and kiss and goes to bed.

Books are a staple in our house. Each child has grown up with a bookcase filled with them. I want to pass that on to my nieces too. When I received an email to review Marilyn Janovitz’ newest publication Baby Baby Baby I knew to jump on it.
Book reviews are hard for me because the subject matter has to fit perfectly with the reader. In this case; a board book was the right fit. Not only is Baby Baby Baby an interactive and entertaining rhyme it’s a bedtime story. This means that each time it’s read it ends softly and with kisses and hugs.

My Review
Brandon loves it when I read the book to him. He likes the rhymes and the repetition of the words. It makes him laugh. Im glad he enjoyed it. Occasionally he would grab the book from his bookshelf for me to read for his bedtime story. It encourages participation through actions such as clapping, hugging, kissing, and more...
My daughter loved Baby Baby Baby by Marilyn Janovitz. She walks around pointing to the pictures saying baby sleeping, baby with kitty, baby with dog, and she even had to sleep with it. She reads this book to her dolls. She is 3 and loves babies and baby dolls. This book was a real treat for her. This is a cute book most kids just starting out would enjoy. I thought it was really cute. Perfect for toddlers.
You can purchase Baby Baby Baby here for $7.99.
Overall I loved this Baby Baby Baby. My daughter loves it. I t encourages her to read which is always a good thing. It is also affordable and sturdy enough for kids. It has thick hard pages. I would recommend it to my friends and family.
Full of rhymes and sure to inspire giggles, this latest board book from author and illustrator Marilyn Janovitz will bounce right to the top of your child’s favorite bedtime stories this Fall! “Mom” was delighted to be able to review this book to her little one, who just adores being read to at any time of the day.
Baby Baby Baby! is a wonderfully engaging story that will have everyone reading along as the little baby claps, dances, giggles, hugs, kisses and crawls across each page as bedtime nears. The story is very entertaining, as are the illustrations, and it is fun to imitate and mimic the actions little baby makes with your own little baby!
Dancing into stores in October 2010, Baby Baby Baby! makes a wonderful gift for the young child in your life. (Sourcebooks Jabberwocky; ISBN: 978-1-4022-4414-8; Board Book $7.99; October 2010).

Baby, Baby, Baby! by Marilyn Janovitz is an adorable new board book for babies. My little Kara (9 months) just loves to sit in mommys lap and read books. Shes getting really good at turning pages and the thick board books are easier for her to handle and keeps her from wrinkling the pages.
I especially loved the bright contrasting colors in the book. It kept Karas interest and stimulated her mind. She loves to pat the picture of the puppy dog. Everytime we come to that page, she will squeal and pat the book.
The words are simple and sweet with an adorable rhyming pattern. Each stanza ends with three repeated words that make it fun for babies to listen and allows little children to start to "read along."
The book features Babys favorite people and animal friends including, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, puppy, and kitty too. The happy words make you want to tickle, clap, and dance right along with Baby.
Its a great book to read as part of a bedtime routine. It starts with a busy, happy baby, crawling, chasing, and clapping during the day. Then it shows Baby getting his bath and being tucked into bed. The last page is of Baby happily sleeping in his crib.

I just recently had the opportunity to review a fabulous board book called "Baby Baby Baby! by Marilyn Janovitz.
This book has wonderfully flowing and rhyming text. We read the book over a few times in a row when we first received it because it had such flow to it and by the end, both of my kids (2 and 5) were chiming in excitedly!
The illustrations are very sweet and adorable, including various members of the family. I like this because the book is about people that baby should recognize in their family.
The book helps with bedtime routine and would be an excellent book to become part of your babys bedtime routine every night. This would be something that a young child or even a baby would look forward to every single night before bed for sure.
The book encourages participation from the reader (or the audience) which is a great beginning reading strategy (little do the children know!). There are actions such as clapping, hugging and kissing which are all familiar actions to young children and babies.
I highly recommend this adorable book to anyone with young children or babies. I also think that it would make an excellent addition to a baby shower or new baby gift.

I skim through children’s books before I select any. I like a simple story, real world characters, and good illustrations. The board book Baby Baby Baby by Marilyn Janovitz fits my bill.
Mommy, Daddy, Puppy, Grandma, Grandpa and Kitty fill baby’s world. Simple bright artwork shows baby on the move–clapping, dancing, crawling, splashing, giggling, playing peek-a-boo, and chasing the cat. This is a book that little ones aged newborn to five can grow with. Its bouncy rhyme makes it a sure bet that this first bedtime story (perhaps) will grow with time to a great early read. Its 24 pages are sturdy enough to withstand page turning again and again.
Reading to your kids is one of the most important things you can do together. It only takes a few minutes and encourages your child to use their imagination and to want to read themselves. It is also a low cost way to spend time with your kids, in fact many times a visit to the library is as rewarding as a trip to the Zoo.
My husband reads at least 3 books a night with our daughter and he has been enjoying some new titles to our collection and I want to share them with you since I think this is so important to read to your children.
1- The Pumpkin Patch Parable by Liz Curtis Higgs, this book is perfect for younger children. It takes you on an adventure of autumn as farmer brings in his harvest. This book is nice because it focuses on fall and pumpkins rather than Halloween and ghosts which can scare many younger kids.
2- The Boy Who Changed The World by Andy Andrews, this book takes kids on a journey around the world with a little boy who is raised on a farm in Iowa and grows up with a mission of helping share corn with the world. This book is more than a good story, your kids will learn about history and some of the people who have helped shaped agriculture to date.
3- One Hand, Two Hands, by Max Lucado, Follow a little girl as she learns that her hands are more than just another part of her body; instead they can be used to help around the house, they can be gentle and kind to do good and they can also be used for love when you wave and hug. Little girls will want to get into helping and I suggest you make time to encourage to make this happen.
4- Baby Baby Baby by Marilyn Janovitz, get your baby involved with the fun rhymes of this one. You will love the clapping, hugging and dancing that starts in the morning and ends with bedtime kisses. This is the perfect book to give to new Moms, in fact I plan on giving a copy to a friend who is expecting in the spring.
5- My Name Is NOT Isabella by Jennifer Fosberry, all little girls need to be able to dream big and there is no better way to do that than through a trip through history. Join Isabella as she becomes an astronaunt, cowgirl, Rosa Parks, scientist, doctor and of course no little girl story is complete without becoming a Mommy. This book will help your child realize that there is no dream too big.
What are your childs favorite book? I would love to know.
I am excited to tell you about a new childrens book coming out this fall, Baby Baby Baby!
I read this to my 18 month and 3 year old grandsons and the 3 year old was singing to the words of it. My 18 month old just kept clapping while I was reading it.
Its a light and bouncy story thats a pleasure to read aloud over and over again. Just ask my grandsons! lol.
Putting babies to bed just became fun with this giggly and bouncy perfect story for babies and the rest of their families.
Author and illustrator Marilyn Janovitz has created an evenly flowing rhyme suited for newborns to 5 year old. Here is a sneak peak of 1 of the catchy phrases in the book.
Bitsy bouncy baby on a bumpity lap, Mommys little baby like to Clap, Clap, Clap.
Boy, I sure hope my good friend Myra isnt reading this, because sometime soon, Im going to be sending this book her way for her to read to her newish baby. The good folks at Sourcebooks were kind enough to send me a review copy of their new board book, Baby Baby Baby!, written and illustrated by Marilyn Janovitz.
The book is written in a bouncy sort of rhyme - as in the kind you might recite while bouncing a very small child on your knee - that rollicks along in a rhythmic way. The accompanying press release claims its a going-to-bed sort of book, but its not a sleepy sort of book at all. Its a playful, fun sort of book that talks about things like clapping, dancing, crawling, splashing, gigglin, chasing, hugging, and eventually sleeping. But given its playful nature, its far more likely to result in a request to hear it again (AGAIN!) than to inspire actual drowsiness. (I do not think that is a bad thing, by the way. Being a board book, its a total of 12 spreads involving 9 stanzas, so it doesnt take especially long to read, even if you clap, dance, kiss, hug, etc. along with the family inside the book.)
An excerpt:

The illustrations are every bit as simple, colorful and adorable as the cover. Fun rhymes paired with fun drawings in a sturdy board book format? Whats not to like? I can assure you that if I didnt have this nice copy to share with Myras baby, Id probably have bought one for her when it goes on sale in October - its that cute.
