*How did the idea originate?
I’ve watched werewolf horror stories over the years, then saw Wolf with Jack Nicholson, who had a romantic interest in Michelle Pfeiffer. It was still a horror story, but I was interested in creating a real romance where the characters would still have human awareness when they turned wolf, and their wolf instincts when human. I also was always interested in werewolf folklore and creating something more than just a romantic liaison between a werewolf, origin unknown, and a human woman. I wanted to show different species of werewolves, just as there are different species of wolves and show the drama between wolf species rather than just between the werewolves and humans.
*Did the book entail any unusual writing habits or places?
I did a lot of research into wolf behavior and studied the terrain maps of Wolf Rock and the surrounding area where some of the story takes place.
