The THIS IS AMERICA program with Nikki Giovanni was broadcast over the weekend on most of the 100+ PBS stations and will be seen in the weeks to come on national cable on American Life TV and distributed internationally to 160 countries via Voice of America Television. The program is now posted on www.thisisamerica.net under "this week's show." The program also received a "highlight's pick" in the Washington Post for its Sunday 6 pm broadcast.

Now three weeks into its run on the Times' bestsellers list, this fantastic book-with-CD continues to build its audience nationwide!

Book trade magazine Booklist has named Hip Hop Speaks to Children to its top 10 list of arts books for youth in its November 1 issue. In part, this tremendous honor means libraries, teachers, and school libraries are seeing great opportunities in using the book as a teaching tool.
Says Booklist, "In this high energy partner to Poetry Speaks to Children, editor Giovanni presents a capsule history of African-American vernacular music. Vibrant artwork from five artists and a CD of poetry and music enhance the fascinating text."

We are thrilled to report that Heart of the Wolf (Sourcebooks Casablanca), by Terry Spear, has been named one of Publishers Weekly's Best Books of 2008 .
