Lisa Beth Kovetz

Award-Winning Writer, Producer and Debut Novelist Writes a Scintillating Tale of Female Friendship Loaded with Delicious Erotica

“Who knew writing about and reading aloud dirty sexual peccadilloes could be so cathartic and life-affirming?” —Kirkus Reviews

“An always entertaining account of four strong characters who become friends and, in the end, much more.” — Booklist

In her twenties, after college, Lisa Beth Kovetz worked as a temp in a large law firm in NYC.  She and her fellow temps were painfully bored so they started an erotic literary club.  It was so much fun that Lisa Beth wrote up a screenplay based on the idea.  Years later, with a little more life under her belt, she tackled the idea again as a novel.

Compulsively readable, touching and wickedly funny, The Tuesday Erotica Club (April 4), is an ultimately hilarious, page-turning novel about four women who turn what was once a boring book club into a secret lunchtime gathering where they read their own erotic stories aloud.

The women of The Tuesday Erotica Club, aged 20–50, work at a law firm and reflect all walks of life and were created from different stages of Lisa Beth’s life:

  • Lux, a young, trashy secretary
  • Brooke, a rich debutante artist
  • Aimee, pregnant and married to a man who is never there for her
  • Margot, a brilliant 50-year-old lawyer who thinks she has it all but hasn’t had a female friend since she was seven

This novel is about their lives and needs, and about how these remarkably different women find themselves deeply bonding in their own very special community.

“A clever and bawdy debut with characters that immediately transport the reader onto a sexy rollercoaster ride of fun. A daring novel of shared female fantasies that most women would never reveal in polite, or for that matter, impolite, company.”
— Suzi Parker, author of Sex in the South: Unbuckling the Bible Belt

“A sexy, raucous adventure about four women discovering the best secrets of friendship, work and love.”
— Adrian Nicole LeBlanc, author of Random Family: Love, Drugs, Trouble and Coming of Age in the Bronx

“The debut of an obviously gifted writer whose ear for dialogue and eye for detail (to say nothing of the sensual and sexual sort) puts Lisa Beth Kovetz’s name on my list of authors to look forward to reading.”
— Laura Van Wormer, bestselling author of Riverside Drive

“When Lisa Beth Kovetz wrote The Tuesday Erotica Club she was in an erotic mood.  Join the club and have some fun!”
— Sidney Sheldon
