What is your book about? Please provide a description.
77 Reasons Why Your Book Was Rejected is a practical, engaging resource for aspiring writers that delivers insider information on why editors and agents decline books—and how to make them stop declining yours. Written by a literary agent, author, and former acquisitions editor for three publishing houses, this is the book every writer will keep dog-eared, nearby on a shelf.
How long have you been at work on this book?
Formally, since 2010. Informally, since I began my writing career in 1989.
How did the idea originate?
A few years ago, I was asked to teach a workshop at a writer's conference on the topic of "why books are rejected." As time went on, I kept adding to my list of reasons until I had close to 100. I culled those down to 77, and it became this book.
Did the book entail any unusual writing habits or places?
