Seven-year-old Hailey Twitch is shocked when she acquires a magic sprite named Maybelle.
How long have you been at work on this book?
I wrote the original draft in about a month, then spent a couple of months revising with my agent before we sent it out on submissions.
How did the idea originate?
I knew I wanted to write a chapter book series, and I've always been into anything pink and sparkly. So a little girl with a magical sprite seemed like the natural choice!
Did the book entail any unusual writing habits or places?
I do better when I write outside of the house, so a lot of this book was written at coffee shops in my neighborhood.
