Project Editor

This growth position allows the employee to learn the acquisition process while assisting in the acquisitions and development of the general trade list, with a special focus on the college guides and study aids line. Duties include:
- Development of manuscripts and project management tasks associated with the bookmaking process
- Growth and acquisition of new projects for study aids series
- Conduct industry and market research to determine project strength and positioning
- Successfully position and develop manuscripts for the marketplace
- Set schedules and meet aggressive deadlines
- Write catalog, jacket and marketing copy
- Work closely with other editors to present projects to sales, publicity, and production/design
- Manage author and client relationships, ensuring positive and accurate communication
- Serve as instrumental part of acquisitions and development team, offering suggestions for new ideas, alternative projects, and effective processes

Assistant Editor

We are looking for talented freelance book cover designers for the following categories:
- Mass Market Romance Fiction
- Adult Non-Fiction, trade paperback
- Adult Fiction
Key Features / Deliverables for titles are:
- Cover conception requires a minimum of three distinct covers.
- Final delivery will include fully designed book covers (front cover, spine, back cover) in both application and PDF file formats ready for printer.
- All source design files must be in InDesign and Adbobe CS3 applications in a Mac compatible formats.
- All work is for hire, and all source files, including fonts, etc. are to be transferred for project to be complete.
This is a great opportunity for experienced book cover designers who demonstrate a great use of fonts. We expect to continually add books in the future and are looking to build a pool of talented designers in this area.
